MSFT Department Projects
Due to Covid, teams at Microsoft were not permitted inside their newly constructed building at 300 Lafayette, New York City. Big Rock Creative was commissioned to re-create three floors of the building as a virtual campus. The objective was two-fold. First, to create a virtual space for Microsoft events. The second was to enable teams who will be working in that building to gather and explore the layout and customized features.
300 Lafayette, NYC - The official Opening Party for MSFT 300 Lafayette teams was held on July 21, 2021.
Microsoft Engineering East + Texas Region Growth Summit - Spearheaded by “The Garage Team” at Microsoft, several internal global Microsoft engineering departments were invited to participate in three different virtual Worlds. On May 18, 2022, we revealed each World concentrated on a specific topic; Hack 101, Ideas, and Science Fair. These beautiful worlds are being used to inspire new innovations.
What We Were Commissioned To Do
- Creative Direction
- Technical Direction
- World Building
- 3-D Modeling
- Graphic Design
- Event Production
The Objective
To create inspiring virtual spaces for internal teams at Microsoft engineering to meet, collaborate, and create.
Why We Are Proud
300 Lafayette: When the architect and builders came into VR and saw their building, they were shocked at how realistic it seemed. We captured the lighting, textures, and feeling of being in the physical space.
Summit: The VR space was welcoming in a way that no one wanted to leave. Even after the event was over, people stayed and kept sharing ideas. Some even remarked that MSFT should build these outdoor spaces in the physical world because they were so incredible to be in.
